If you ask a Protestant/orthodox what religion he is, he'll say Christian.
If you ask a catholic, he'll say catholic.
Anybody else notice this?
Protestants have hijacked the name Christian for themselves. Most Catholics I speak to deny being Christian, which is worrying.
Also I'd like to add that Protestants are a pox upon mankind
Nope. In Balkans we usually say "Orthodox". I'm pretty sure they do same in Russia too.

I don't even believe in Christianity
Protestants are just annoying

It just means Catholics are less autistic about their denomination. In the Catholic world the word 'Catholic' is used in the same way Christian is.

No, not really.

The Protestants here in the states are the worst. NO ONE fucking knows what sect they are. They think it's all the same thing and that all churches are more or less the same.

Catholics will also say they are Christian. There is disputes common in denominations. Though, usually when one breaks away from Catholicism to a different form of Christianity they will identify as Christian instead, which they were, but they make the definition outwardly known.
Also, I went to Catholic school when I was younger OP and they told us that Catholics were different than Christians, because Christians don't accept the papacy, but Catholic Christians do.
Christianity is best left without a denomination; I think reading a Gospel for yourself is definitely a good help for any person

Some Orthodox churches include the word Catholic in their full title. It isn't just the property of the Roman church. The trend to use Christian is a post Reformation fundamentalist revivalist thing.
