It honestly might have been something like World in Conflict with the Soviet Union lashing out and making one last ditch all or nothing effort to take over Europe rather than face inevitable collapse.

Wild speculation, but my guess would be that the regime would have been short lived, 5 years at best, and that the Soviet Union would have disintegrated even further as various countries leave the RSFR, Chechnya in particular. The various Caucasus wars would probably have raged even harder, so we might have seen a truly independent Abkhazia and the like rather than the several frozen conflicts we have now (Transnistria would probably not exist, though). Also the Kremlin likely wouldn't have been able to install as many puppets as it did in Central Asia, as the West may have had a greater role there.

Civil war would be a plausible outcome.

We'd have reached peaceful coexistence with socialism, most likely.

Not without an internal support.
It would be more along the lines of late WW1 with soldiers deserting in millions.

Baltics still recive independence, r-right?

There's no justifiable reason for Baltics to exist.

Just enough time for one last 5 year plan!
The collapse of the Ussr would have been far more violent and messy. The August Coup failed after its leaders realised that they have virtually no support in Russia and little to none elsewhere aside from Central Asia and Belarus. During the coup there were lots of incidents of not only civil disobedience, but also soldiers and other uniformed servicemen refusing to follow orders.
If the leaders didnt concede defeat, these spontaneous opposition movements would have crystallised. The most likely consequence would be entire regions refusing to listen to Moscow. The hardliners would either have to let them go or try to bring them to fold by force.

Socialism would inevitably [collapse] either way it is a fundamental feature of a flawed system

Then there would be small a civil war, and the communists would lose. It was only a small contingent of the military that actually supported the communist regime iirc, since the rest were getting shit payment and cared less and less about the Soviet Union. Their downfall was inevitable.
