Considering the over 4000 years of human history to work with you'll want to be a little more specific for "historical events"
What geographical area, civilization, religion or culture interests you the most?

Anything not heavily SJW that gives a well written but brief overview of popular time periods. PDFs with lots of pictures and maps. Mesopotamia, Rome, Middle Ages, Renaissance, Enlightenment, Early America, etc.
