>did he know about pedophilia and corruption of western Europeans and North Americans

I don't think so. Here in Poland, we don't have pedo priests like degenerate western countries. St. Pope John Paul II was from this culture and knew being ordained into the church of Christ was no laughing matter. He took his position seriously and always took care of his flock (his parishioners always talked high of him, even when he was a simple parish priest).

Even today, priests here are trusted and looked up to. You reap what you sow, western countries.
>>
No, but he destruyed catholicism with his cuckery.
>>
>>1828428
This.

Pedophile Catholic priests seem to be a western thing.

Here in the Philippines, Priestly sex scandals are always some priest keeping a mistress or girlfriend, or being a homo, or having a secret family funded by church money. But never pedophilia.
>>
>>1828598
>celibacy
Honestly, here in Poland we don't even have a problem with priests having women/families on the side. It's just not a thing. Sure, you'll find the odd case now and then, though.

How's the faith doing over there, brother?
>>

>I don't think so. Here in Poland, we don't have pedo priests like degenerate western countries

We do have scores of them, just our ever biased media swoop it under the carpet.

Are you living under a rock? In my own vicinity there's a priest who lives openly with his "helping lady".

You literally can't be serious. Stop bullshiting people on 4chan about Poland.
>>
>>1828622
It's the country's most dominant religion still. But currently we have a popular, edgelord, center-left, cunt for a president who likes to piss off the Catholic church because they're criticizing his law-enforcement methods, which promotes violence & vigilantism.

Since this guy is popular a lot of people think going against the Church is the "in" thing to do nowadays. And these are people who still call themselves "Catholic."
>>
>>1828633
>helping lady

What diocese are you in?

This must be an exception because in most areas I've been to, helping ladies are 60+ year old retired women that bring the priest food a few times a day and vacuum the house. That's it.

Stop spreading bullshit about the Church, because you know we pretty much have no scandals here.

>>1828634
That's weird, your demographics must be changing slowly since he was able to win the elections. I know you guys still have some of the highest church attendance in the world, though.

God bless and I wish you the best with your current president.

And yet the sexual abuse phenomenon flourished under his reign. Also he treated Oscar Romero like shit.

There's no scandals because there's almost complete media lockdown on all the fucked up shit our clergy do. I have a former seminarist (priest-in-training) in my family who quit the church and sunk in depression after what he saw there. If only half of the shit he told me is true, Polish church is among the most demoralized out there. No competition, no media oversight, no legal accountability for anything. All state authorities help to hush hush everything/

>"Pedophile priests are a Western thing"

Most idiotic post of the day. Poland alone has had several cases concerning priestly sex abuse on minors. Not too mention that scandals occur even in "Catholic" countries.

I live in Mexico (a nominally "Catholic" country), and we've had plenty of sex scandals with priests (either having mistresses or abusing minors or being in-the-closet but violating their vows), along with cases of priests being hand-in-hand with the drug cartels and being generally corrupt. Most people see them as useless and stunted men who wound up in seminary out desperation/lack of choices, the bad state of the clergy and seminaries is pretty well known.

Lastly:
Poland's a shit-hole, kurwa.

since they represent the word of god they should set a higher standard and be ahead of the curve on issues like this that are morally intensive
>>
>>1828428
I idea to move pedo priests around to different parishes came from liberal psychologists. Moreover, homosexuals should be kept out of the priesthood unless its someone with no sexual history who can remain chaste. This wasn't the case at seminaries in the 70s.

They weren't covering up sexual abuse, that's the point of the picture that you clearly didn't read. They did what experts in the field told them to do, which is to send them to treatment and relocate them. That's what everybody did at the time, including schools and courts.
>>
>>1828918
>which is to send them to treatment and relocate them.

>they didn't cover them up, they just covered them up
>also they made zero attempts to actually fix the problem once they were made aware of it and continue to this day fighting against the compensation of the victims
>and how can you expect the Church to disagree with schools and courts on matters of morality? The Church never ever does things like that! Whenever social attitudes shift, the church is always first in line to accept and implement the change!

http://www.thevillagechurch.net/sermon/what-distinguishes-protestant-from-roman-catholic-theology/

>Roman Catholic theology is hard to nail down for a couple of reasons. First, it represents almost 2,000 years of doctrine. While many within Roman Catholicism would state that its doctrines have remained consistent (though expanding), such simply is not the case. Second, there exists a plurality of beliefs under the banner of the tradition. Latin American Roman Catholicism differs greatly from Northeastern U.S. or Polish Catholicism, which may or may not be easily distinguished from the official positions of the Vatican. Third, there is the confusing distinction between ex cathedra (and therefore infallible) teaching and that which is not.
>>
>>1828931

Yeah okay. Sending them to treatment doesn't count as an attempt to fix the problem. This has nothing to do with morality, it's an issue of treatment. The prevailing wisdom of the time was that it could be treated, and once the priests completed treatment they could return to work.

That site is fantastic! Here it's bawwing over supposed sex abuse in gymnastics. Something about motes, beams and eyes...

http://www.themediareport.com/2016/08/15/indy-star-abuse-in-usa-gymnastics/

From the comment section:

>The US Gymnastics team, though an institution like the church, doesn't have the history; the cachet or the wealth and influence on people's lives that a religion has. Nor has it he number of victims.

>TMR's pointing out other child molesting organizations excuses Catholic priest molesters and enablers how?

>We know ALL institutions have child abusers and many (most, probably) have covered them up.

>The US. Gymnastic team hasn't had you number of victims. It hasn't created religious orders and hiding places for it's perpetrators like you have. Nor has it posed as the ultimate arbitrator of morality here on earth. Your church has done all those things.

>You could have resolved all this years ago by doing the right thing. You didn't. You haven't and you won't and that is why you will continue to have this problem. Fix the mess you've made. Quit trying to point the finger and worm your way out of what you've done.

And:

>It's absolutely amazing to me how quickly you are willing to throw others under the bus. You don't feel that the catholic church and other religious should be held to a much higher standard, based on the fact that they claim to be the Godly, pure and true church. Are you sure that some of these molesters might turn out to be members of your church. Seems by what I read in the NYT, several were prosecuted with sentences of 30, 36, 6 and 8 years. Seems to me that at least some organization is sending them to the proper authorities, unlike your cult, who hid the perpetrators, secretly sent them to the protection of Rome, or slyly paid off the victims to keep the silence of their horrible crimes of perversion under wraps. I also love how you describe their acts as "truly stomach-turning". So you think that old men sodomizing, abusing and jacking of little boys doesn't qualify as acts so disgusting, from men who claim to be holy. The hypocrisy is palbable. Please make some effort to remove "the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye". Maybe it's time we practice what we preach.

I didn't say it doesn't happen at all, it's just not as widespread as in other countries. Your kid is more likely to get molested in a classroom by a teacher than by a priest in a church.

You never said what diocese you're in. The further west, the more degenerate.

My brother is a seminarian (Diecezja Tarnowska) and I've spent my whole life around nuns and priests. I've never felt a weird presence from them.
