The french revolution was a mistake.
Prove me wrong.
Protip: You can't.
And it's all his fault
>extinguishing the privileges of the degenerate and debauched nobility who would live rich and luxurious lives despite never having worked for it was a mistake
>giving yourself the same rights and opportunities as a nobleman was a mistake
Those are the leading principles for the French Revolution and they seem alright by my standards.

>the current cuckoldry of Europe stems from the French Revolution
What's your logic here?
>>1801522
Linking the current state of Europe to a random event doesnt make you right
By that logic, I could say that beating Napoleon was a mistake because of Britain's current state (pic related)

In a weird way, all the post-modern shit(but none of the good one) come from the Anglo-saxon. french only made a theory taht the american corrupt and export to the world.
But it can only come from the french revolution and not from the anglo-saxon degenerancy.

without the french revolution we wouldn't have gotten napoleon
checkm8 atheists
>>1801495
France is a mistake itself.
>>1801495
Pro tip: you can't be proven right either
>>1801530
Equality and universalism invariably leads to open borders.
There is no intellectual stand against open borders once you accept the values of the French Revolution.
It's a pity the Revolution didn't steer a more moderate course like Lafayette wanted. Avoid Robespierre and all those other radicals.

though without a reign of terror is a reactionary counterrevolution unavoidable?
>>1801647
In hindsight, France should've been purged of royalists AND radicals without a military takeover. Lafayette wanted something along like the lines of the US republic but on French foundations where yeomen farmers, merchants, lawyers, soldiers, etc. would all build-up the economy and instill an orderly society. Meanwhile France would still patron the arts and sciences without resorting to needless wars.
In a lot of ways, the French Revolution should've been an early warning to Russia. The Russian Empire should've learned from it in 1815 and avoided unnecessary military conflict, liberalize itself, and focus on industrial development for a century. The Bolshivists would never have formed if there were self-correcting reforms already in place by the late 1800's.
>>1801665
If you look back though, the Russian royal family actually did attempt to implement reforms at first, but then went back on them after the revolts in the early 1900s. They set up a sort of Parliament even, only to nullify it's power soon after. They were terrified of the people having power (very Russian)

And then, when a reformer appeared, a Bolshevik Jew killed him.

Which one ? Your image and lack of capitals makes this confusing.
>>1801735
Unironically this.
Why does this memer portray the 1789 French Revolution with a Révolution de Juillet painitng. All very confusing.
>>1801632
daily reminder that Robespierre tried to save the true Révolution. Alas, the eternal bourgeois stopped him.
>>1801504
>>1801632
The only mistake Robespierre did was not killing enough people

>the french revolution
Implying there was only one
Liberty, Equality and Fraternity are the important driving principles behind every ideology that is even semi-popular today. The French Revolution was the single most important moment in "modern" political history and the ideas that burst forth from it are responsible for our quality of life.
French Revolution was far more important in history than even the American Revolution which was founded on similar ideals.
Progressivism is a fair price for liberalism.

mindless bloodshed was the only opportunity.

Are you blaming him for the French Revolution as a result of him being defeated by the Americans?
