Yeah, it was called 1944. I think it's ironically because it let you do more. The more primitive interface, with the only options of "call for reinforcements" and "Charge ahead frontally" captures a sense of WW1 in a way that 1944 didn't for WW2.

To this day I cherish the memories I have of staying up past midnight playing Castle Fight, or Uther's, or Sheep/Tree Tag, or Pudgies, or spoiling/discovering Anime I had yet to watch on shitty fanmaps.

Who /endless war/?

There's this one tower defense game I remember wherein you played as a singular tower (which looked basically like a white circle) and had to defeat increasing numbers of souped-up bads.

You'd grab upgrades between rounds for the tower- by the end you'd basically just be flinging particles and explosions in every direction almost indiscriminately.

Anyone remember the name of the game? I think it had a selection of rave-y/electronica-y music, possibly, as a soundtrack, if that helps any.
