Why are many contemporary left-wing people against Trotsky?
What are the critiques to him?
>>
mostly because trostkytes will create division in any cause they join
>>
>>1716757

This. Trots are immense pissbabbys who seek to subvert other leftwing groups to their cause.
>>
They're eternally butthurt that Trotsky was kicked out before he could actually really try anything about governing Russia.
>>
Contemporary left-wingers don't agree on anything, not even if mass immigration is either good or something that governments and corporations are forcing on populations.
>>
>>1716750
incapable of organizing mass parties or even join national fronts, bourgeois intellectuals totally out of contact with the working class
>>
>>1716750
>Why are many contemporary left-wing people against Trotsky?
lolno
I've seen more Trotskyists than Tankies.

Trotsky was an opportunist autist and he also used his military campaign as a political leverage, bordering on populist Bonapartism.
>>
I see much more love for Trotsky than for Stalin, and the latter actually achieved things, Trotsky just achieved his death.
>>
>>1716750
>Critique #1
Was a leftist, therefore he literally has no grasp of basic economic concepts and could be clinically categorized as retarded

>Critique #2
Refer to critique 1; leftists are stupid and have no fucking idea what they are talking about. Therefore, they will constantly bicker about random shit
>>
>>1716890
Counterpoint: Trotsky's death is still pretty neat.
>>
Most contemporary left-wing people see Trotsky as some kind of humanist communist, in contrast to the terrible tyrant Stalin.

They don't even know that by any measure Trotsky was even worse. He was the one who first proposed collectivization of agriculture, Stalin was actually reluctant to follow through, and he even wanted militarization of industrial labour, basically enslaving the entire Russian people.
>>
>>1716904

And we have Stalin to thank for that, too.
>>
Critique of Trotsky himself from a left wing perspective mainly center around some of his political positions Kronstadt and his pretty counter-productive views on anti-imperialism.
As for trotskyists themselves, it's their silly politics.

from the OP
>Why are many contemporary left-wing people against Trotsky?
If you aren't capable of something so basic as reading, why should be listen to you on anything more complex?
>>
>>1716925
>he took the bait
>>
>>1716942
I still trust you, anon. This relationship is uneven, but I love you all the same.
No matter how many times you bait me.

Trotsky provided the material.

It's a 50/50 kind of achievement.

This. He wanted militarization of labor, said forced labor was a necessity for the revolution, was super edgy when it came to exterminating religion and culture, and wanted constant expansion even more than Stalin. From any point of view except the most deranged autist commies who want to be even more special snowflakes so they worship him, he was among the most evil people ever and his ideas would create a hellish slave state if he had his way.
>>
>>1716910
>collectivization of agriculture
Which wasn't even collectivisation: they were state farms managed by technocrats.
>>
>>1716757
>>1716799
Trots have a very organised mechanism of self insertion into non partisan groups
They also use front organisations, The Irish Trotskyists changed their name to the Irish Workers Party, which then started the electable People Before Profit Alliance, an alliance of which they are the member

They're a disruptive menace to trade unions

PS I know nothing of Trotsky's works
>>
>>1716750
Trotskyists had a strong influence on the growth of neoconservatism in the U.S.

It's not hard to see why people hate him.
>>
>>1716910
>Most contemporary left-wing people
Give or take the whole of the anarchist movement and libertarian socialists, left and council communists, autonomist Marxists, and most social democrats.
>>
>>1717975
Didn't the (formerly) pro-soviet Socialist Party do the same with their Anti-Austerity Alliance?
Entryism and front organizations are not limited to Trots
>>
>>1716750
They become counter-revolutionary when they realise they can't get their way. That and their sectarian nature is still visible in Trots today.

Lenin dislike him, most of the Party disliked him. He was an opportunist and an outcast. Yet some people think he was 'the greatest leader the Soviets never had'.

Wrote some good stuff about Hitler though.
>>
>>1718326
>Entryism and front organizations are not limited to Trots
No, but there are none other that I can name.

Also I need to remake the point that Trots are fucking hassles to unions
>>
I'm hostile to Trotskyism, but it is worth noting that the accusations of factionalism and Bonapartism directed against Trotsky stem from the Zinoviev-Kamenev-Stalin troika, themselves a faction within the Community Party and the de facto power in the Central Committee. This same troika had prevented Lenin's Testament from being read out to the delegates of the Twelfth Party Congress convened in April 1923.

It should also be recalled that Trotsky twice declined Lenin's offer of a key government position*, on the basis that a Jew would not be accepted in a place of high authority so long as antisemitism persisted in Russia.

* Once in October 1917, for Comissar of the Interior, and once in 1922, for Deputy Chairman of Sovnarkom.

Thanks for all the answers, lads. This board is great.
>>
>>1719678
>this board is great
this is patently false information
>>
>>1719688
It's way better than my main board, so I might be just really impressed.
>>
Trotsky was a fanatic, just like most Bolsheviks.
He was no less brutal than Stalin, in fact I'd argue he was even more brutal and detached from real life than Stalin.
His hands were just as bloody, he wasn't some benign intellectual like modern plebs imagine him to be. None of them were.
>>
>>1716750
Some see Trotsky as anti-left because his anti-Stalinism split the Western communist movement
>>
>>1716899
>yeah bro let's do capitalism instead
>it's not unsustainable dude I promise inflation can exist indefinitely
>>
>>1720170
If Trotsky stayed in power Pol Pot wouldn't have killed all those Cambodians with glasses.
