Did anything actually happen in the 1820s or was the world taking a nap after Napoleon?
Off the top of my head: Decembrists in Russia, Greek independence, uh pretty sure there was a revolt in the Ottoman empire too. Some shit went down with the portugese monarchy also. I guess it was a decade more characterized by internal conflict for Europe.

revolutions all over
the 2nd half of the 19th century was a revolutionary hotbed.
United States expanded faster than any nation on earth ever.
Britain:
invents the omnibus (1825)
invents the bus service (1829)
invents the railway (1822)
invents the railway tunnel (1826)
invents the match (1827)
discovers Antarctica (1820)
is the first to Timbuktu (1826)
invents the computer (1822)
deciphers Hieroglyphics (1822, with some French help)
bans suttee (killing wives on a husband's death) in India (1829)
wins the Anglo-Burmese War to annex Burma (1826)
annexes Malaysia and Singapore (1826)
I dont have a specific event in mind, but the British were quickly taking over India and exerting pressure on china during this period.
