When was it that all plebs in Europe knew what year AD it was? Like by 1200 did peasants know it was 1200? By 1300? 1400? 1500?
>>
around 800 AD it was widely used in Europe and England
>>
Many peasants in europe were illiterate retards that didn't even know what year they were born as late as the 19th century.

This. Peasants were retards who wouldn't know the time of day, let alone what season it is. You're a fucking retard if you think one would ever know the fucking year.
>>

Like other anons said, "all plebs" probably didn't know the date until surprizingly new times.

They probably used other references like "the year when the war with the english started" and often probably less fancy stuff like climate or local social events.

>farmers
>not knowing what season it is

you're the fucking retard.
>>

This. Bloody hell
The livelihood of farmers depended on crop seasons, so of course they'd have a good idea of the times of year.

>Peasants were retards

People actually get very good at telling time without clocks if they do it their whole lives. Even if they don't know the exact numbers, they would probably know when dawn, morning, noon, afternoon, dusk is.

Not to mention towns often did have sundials.

And people definitely knew the seasons, most of their livelihoods depended on it.
