Why was the eastern front so much more mobile than the western front in WWI?
>>
Because the eastern steppe is too god damn big.

Unit density is lower. The Western front crammed millions of men into a relatively tiny area, which mean that there was no room to put them all in effectively, no room to try to maneuver around your opponent's flanks on an operational or strategic level.

Eastern Front, not so much.

Too many Russians to kill.

That's a pretty good answer actually.
Typical Russian strategy of outnumbering rival's bullets.
>>
Russians didn't know how to dig trench

>Be steppes & plains
>Dig trench
>Enemy bypasses you.

Cavalry has a field day in the eastern front.

Better question is why is every thread about EF full of people (Americans) whose only knowledge on subject comes from CoD?

When did Call of Duty have a WWI instalment? Was it any good?
