They were BTFO in the 1st Balkan War just half a decade earlier against the Balkan states. They didn't stand a chance against modern industrial nations.

They put up a good fight, all things considered, but they lacked the equipment and industrial capacity to go toe-to-toe with the big boys of Europe.

Couple that with rising nationalism in a very disunited empire that was exploited by the Brits and you have a shitshow waiting to happen.

it didnt really have a big impact. the discovery of America and the Portuguese/Dutch colonies in the east made the Ottoman Empire irrelevant, it moved the center of the world from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.

The same can be said of both the 1st and 2nd Romes however.

The produced very little in the way of culture and science despite the huge amount of land they usurped.

To this day, you usually either study Napoleon's law or the common law. You don't study the "law" of these prolific rapists, because they were the classic government by force rather then by law.

No great technological achievement came from these slavers. Other slavers, like the British and the French, at least gave us railway and calculus. Even the Japanese gave the world automated toilets.
