Surely you mean 15th, anon.
Why was Turkey so utterly btfo in WWI?
>>1631776
Ar*bs
>>1631776
They were BTFO in the 1st Balkan War just half a decade earlier against the Balkan states. They didn't stand a chance against modern industrial nations.
They put up a good fight, all things considered, but they lacked the equipment and industrial capacity to go toe-to-toe with the big boys of Europe.
Couple that with rising nationalism in a very disunited empire that was exploited by the Brits and you have a shitshow waiting to happen.
>>1631694
Well played anon, well played.
>>1631770
Surely you mean the 19th century.

>Third
>Roman
>Empire
>>1631776
They didn't do THAT badly especially when compared to other ""great"" """powers""" like Russia and Austria.
>>1631690
its biggest impact on modern civilization was existing as a threat in the mediterranean which didnt allow catholics to fully focus on destroying the protestant heresy.
it didnt really have a big impact. the discovery of America and the Portuguese/Dutch colonies in the east made the Ottoman Empire irrelevant, it moved the center of the world from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic.
>>1633365
They literally did at least as bad, and Russia and Austria were fighting frontline forces of great powers instead of colonial riffraff and Arabs.
>>1631690
>Third
>Roman
>Empire
>>1631690

Mehmet pls
/his/ agreed dont bother them about it
>>1631690
Wish Turkey had at least annexed Italy, would have silenced all the naysayers. Say what you will about the Ottoman Empire but they definitely were in position to be called the Third Roman Empire.
How wealthy was Ottoman Constantinople in comparison to Roman Constantinople? How successful were the Turks in making the city great again?
>>1631690
Literally unsophisticated hordes of brutes who sat around raping devshirme blood tax boipuccis and various slaves from Circassia.
The same can be said of both the 1st and 2nd Romes however.
The produced very little in the way of culture and science despite the huge amount of land they usurped.
To this day, you usually either study Napoleon's law or the common law. You don't study the "law" of these prolific rapists, because they were the classic government by force rather then by law.
No great technological achievement came from these slavers. Other slavers, like the British and the French, at least gave us railway and calculus. Even the Japanese gave the world automated toilets.
The only legacy it has is a very base one, one on the genetics of the people its parasite ghazi aristocracy decided to droit-de-seigneur all day and night.
The British Empire did the wrong thing really. The concept of "Rome" should've been destroyed. The Turkish seed is an eyesore on the land. Terrorism is but the continuation of Tunisian slave raiders and ghazis slaving Nubians.
If the British and the French were grafitti scrawlers, the Turks just shat all over the place and claimed glory.
Truly a people worth exterminating intentionally with nuclear weapons. That and their Arab thralls.
