Thing is all these doctrines had some kind of tangible, often utilitarian reason. Like monotheism was created to preserve Hebrew tribalism because they started worshipping foreign gods alongside their own and thus assimilating into foreign culture. Then Catholicism often repainted pagan deities as Christian saints in order to get pagans on their side (Mars to St. Martin, etc).
Semitic religions were more a demonology than à proper polytheism. But yeah, whatever
