Wasn't Cicero just a Roman lawyer who was extremely constitutionalist and opposed Caeser. Why put him with the likes of Mark Twain and the smug frenchman?

Cicero's jokes were complete shit, and as for Mark Twain, well... Let's just say he went to France to try to exercise his "wit", and these later quotes by him should give you some indication of how that went:

Dude, OP, you've wisely chosen some pretty snarky cunts but Mark Twain invented the bant. Cicero could wax poetic and Voltaire could fart all of his punctuations with revelry, but neither of them could outbant Mark Twain. They just don't have the saltiness, cynicism, and journalistic quick of a post-Civil War American commentator like Twain. I would fucking buy a front row seat to that rout though!
