Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. But in all seriousness, can someone tell me what this tool is? In a way it reminds me of a old lathe indicator, but the only thing that turns is the pointed tip, but it doesn't move in or out, just moves the dial. There is absolutely no markings that I can see on it

Could be an old torque screw driver. As you turn the screw the dial would move to indicate the pounds of torque. Modern ones set the torque on the screwdriver. Honestly, unsure as it's just a guess.

That could be a possibility, but the way the end is, it's like a three slope that come to a point. I couldn't think of any thing that has that kind of point or tip. Is there anywhere else I could post where they might know?

Tri-wing screws fampai.

/diy/ or /o/ might have an idea. I'm pretty sure it's an old torque screwdriver the more I look at it. As for what, I have no idea. Likely some machine from the fin die siecle judging by that handiwork on the tool.

/diy/ maybe.
If that fails you could bring it to an antique shop if you really care that much.
Apologies for the quality of the pics.
I'll see what I can come up with

Turns out to be a old tachometer for a machinists. To measure the rpms a motor is turning.. One full revolution on the dial is equivalent to 100revolutions of a motor. You time it over a minute and that's how you figure the speed. http://sys.4chan.org/derefer?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D4RLnwgp6YcM
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction buddy.
