Would it be fair to say that the American midwest is more representative of German people and culture than modern day Germany is?

this might've been true if it was the 19th century and they still spoke only german.
having oktoberfest and schutzenfest does not a german make.

language is just one part of culture though. The American Midwest had more practicing Lutherans than in all of Germany. The American midwest has a conservative, individualistic culture reminiscent of Germany prior to the 20th century. The food, art, dance and festivals are all German or German influenced.

Jesus christ you yanks get more retarded about muh heritage every day. Have either of you actually seen Germany outside of /pol/ or /int/ shitposting? It's far more conservative than you think, the migrant fiasco aside.
>The American midwest has a conservative, individualistic culture reminiscent of Germany prior to the 20th century.
It's fair to say that Germany was conservative, but not really individualist. Germans tended to have a strong sense of community and social responsibility viewed through a conservative lens whereas American culture was always far more individualistic and had a definite 'fuck you, got mine' attitude which many of the German immigrants to the midwest eventually picked up.

No and that is laughable to think that
>>1565715
>individualistic culture reminiscent of Germany
lolwat

Wonderful German classics almost forgotten in the homelands such as Kartoffelkinderheißreine and Grünbohnekaserolle?

It's worth noting that the Midwest used to be the hotbed of the American socialist movement, which to my recollection, was largely driven by German and Central/Eastern European immigrants.
Not buying into OP's MUH sperging, but a noteworthy fact nontheless.
>>1565665
Yes. Just look at Drumpf. It's like Germany during the 30's.
>>1566635
Minnesota did have a communist governor and wisconsin is extremely socialist
>>1565665
No, dumb midwesterner.
>>1565665
>>1565665
Do you conveniently forget that urban midwest has some of the most liberal cities in the nation?
>>1566506
This so much. Germany was always collectivist / communitarian. The MUH INDIVIDUALISM, MUH FREEDUMZ and MUH RIGHTS is Anglo nonsense, it's not German.
>>1565665
>that post
>>1565665
No, it would be fair to say that redpill kiddies everywhere think they live in the real Germany
