Anybody else here atheist but really like reading up on the Christian mythos?
Definitely
Christian mythology is fascinating
It's up there with Buddhist legends
Me. I'm fascinated with Christian theology. I read up on some church fathers and listen to sermons from every denomination every day. I just can't believe any of it (for obvious reasons, namely, them not being true).

·the·ism
ˈāTHēˌizəm/
noun
noun: atheism
disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods.
Is this what you are? Are you sure? Identifying as an object that doesn't believe that a specific thing exists is a really weird perception of reality.
>"Hello, intelligent extraterrestrial! Don't worry, I'm an intellectual individual, there's this fake thing that some people say exists and I think that they're wrong!"

Yes. And I'm sure many Christians love reading up on Greek pantheons, and Japs are weirdly obsessed with and romanticize Catholicism, etc. You can be a whatever-aboo over something without actually being a believer.
An atheist just believes in one less religion than most. It's a pretty tiny and insignificant difference.
Sure.
Religious cosmologies tend to be really interesting to read about... even if they are bullshit.
Yeah, it's pretty neat. The Bible is actually kind of an interesting read.
Also, the notion of ideas as organisms really gave me an appreciation for the structure of the religion, as it seems to be quite well built to propagate and survive, through a combination of fear tactics, selective appeals to ignorance, emotional appeals, and community building. It's fairly impressive, even I find its fundamental precepts appalling.
