If you developed a simulated world populated by intelligent entities, they would no doubt explore that world and develop their own science, all the while blissfully unaware that their "science" is something you made up. One being's science is another's simulation.

Until there is evidence to suggest or prove this speculation, this "reality isn't real" meme is completely irrelevant towards my daily life.
Besides the purpose of life is just an empowering concept self-granted and self-fulfilled by those who believe it. Life exists because it simply does. Self importance is an illusion to gain a perception of power over your environment etc.
