Also, isn't it more likely that the fashion industry, continuously looking for cheaper labor and raw materials, simply pushed skimpier outfits as a way to maximize profit? Except that the size of the garment doesn't actually matter because the materials are cheap as it is. If you halve its size you won't double your profit. The change in profit will be negligible. The reason for that is that nearly all of the price of a garment comes from the designing department and then the added price of brand. The actual material plays a minuscule role in price unless we're talking about some specific shit like leather.
