Any reason not to get a masters in history at a meh-tier school just for the hell of it?
>will take night classes because muh career
>will be free because muh veterans benefits
>will be mid-tier because muh location
Is there any downside? I can get an MA in either American, European, Slavic, or random irrelevant continent history.
Are you paying for it? If you're paying for it, that's a downside.

No. You're paying for it
>muh veterans benefits

Ok so I have the same question as OP, except my only hope is scholarships. Worth it?

Just time that could be better spent at a better school, if that's an option.
I got four degrees, mostly at community colleges, just for the fuck of it, over maybe fifteen years, none of which I've ever used as a source of income, but I was independently wealthy (and bored) from a young age.
While I can't say I regret it, there maybe potentially better options for time investments, depending on your means and desires. ...and I will say all that acquired learning kinda leaks out of your skull, if you don't end up using it, though I suppose it builds discipline, of a sort, and the social opportunities are generally entertaining enough.
>not going for STEM
Well meme'd

Sure it might be interesting but when you've finished you'll be no better off than you are now. Just do a STEM and make yourself employable you welfare queen.

>Is there any downside?
Same downside as having any other hobby. You're consuming time and money (I'm assuming your benefits don't cover books and shit).
If you have nothing better to do, it's good.
If you have something better to do, it's bad.

But I'm already employed.

Use that money to get real degree you fucking retard
My tax money is being taken away so that you can sit around with your dick in your hands doing jack shit
That said thanks for your service
>>1533472
Go for it, but consider a better school and maybe get certified in a trade at a trade school or community college just in case.
>But I'm already employed.
I would recommend getting a degree in a field that will benefit your career (and you can study history in your free time for fun)
I see no point in going to college ever. There are way cheaper ways how to get laid and how to get brainwashed.
