Hey /his/, I think I may have an 'artifact' here, but I'm not sure if it's legitimate. My Grandfather fought for the Italian army during the Second World War (I know that to be true at least), and he recently gifted me some binoculars that he claims to have used during the war, but their condition makes me suspect that that may not be entirely true. I was wondering if anyone here could help me verify the authenticity of my binoculars. Thanks.

I can't verify that myself, but I suggest looking in your area for a museum or someone who specializes in military antiquities to verify them with you, don't go to a pawn shop or whatever.

Yeah, go to a military museum, curators love any excuse to be the source for information for someone.

Also, regarding the condition: binoculars and optics are usually always contained in protective casing for almost all of the time, and can stay in good condition for a long time.
