It never ceases to amuse me that this whole global war was caused pretty much singlehandedly by George Washington.

Fred Anderson "Crucible of War" is the best on the new world conflict.

Robert Asprey "Frederick the great" good bio with plenty on the Prussian side.

There are a lot of academic studies on the French Army during the war, etc.

Nah. The French Indian War had been going on for over 2 years when the 7 Years War finally broke out. They were separate contemporary conflicts which contained the same belligerents.

I got "Guide to the Battles of the American Revolution" from my local library a while back and it seemed pretty good. Had tons of maps.

That's not even close to what happened. He got into a skirmish with a what he thought was a French scouting party on the frontier of the Ohio River Valley but it turned out to be the diplomat and his escorts. They shot first and asked questions later. Could've happened to anybody desu.
