I really couldn't say. There'd have been a far higher likelihood of a stalemate though, with french troops looming dangerously on Germany's entire industrial region in the West, and german troops lingering just as dangerously some kilometers from Paris.

It'd have been have a "he has my balls in his hands, but I have his in my hands, so everything will be fine so long as none of us make a move" narrative really.

If the French had done things right they might have won.
But they only made mistakes.

Not with the level of French logistical and mobilization ability in September of 1939. Don't forget too, that the Germans were still mobilizing at that point, which creates a significant reserve of troops to block the offensive without diverting resources from attacking Poland.

To make it work, you'd need to go back a few years, re-organize pretty much half the French army.
