Why are people allowed to have faith in God but not in science or other methods of reducing bias?
>>
Allowed by who?
>>
>>1160133
People on this board, mostly. Or just the religious.
>>
>>1160176
This is why people hate Atheists
>>
>>1160184
Ok
>>
"Faith" in the way you are using the word refers to the act of believing in something without proof. That's just, literally what it means, google it.

So when someone believes something with a basis of logical validity or soundness, there's no faith involved. This is what we refer to as "knowledge", and it's fundamentally different from how faith works.

There's always a couple threads about scientism or why science isn't pure logic so it's shit
But religion is perfectly fine? Why does it get a pass?
>>
How do you have faith in science?
>>
>>1161090
>science
>logical

W E W
>>
>>1161758
The scientific method creates "knowledge" based on inductive reasoning, which is equivalent to faith.
>>
>>1160103
I beleive in gensokyo
>>
>>1161700
Because its nonsense but its feel-good nonsense for thr most part
>>
>>1160184
Atheist isn't a proper noun.
>>
Faith = openness to the truth, no matter what it is
Scientists have faith
The word you meant to use is belief
>>
>>1161843
That is not the definition of faith.
>>
>>1161758
If you go by "you don't really know anything" science would be a matter of faith even if you can appeal to people and say that some arguments are better than others
