All "revolutions" past the 1700's have only been adding to the earths inevitable demise.

When Kant wrote admiringly about republican government, the "republic" he had in mind more than any other was England.

England was the one country to which every enlightened person in Europe looked with longing: the country which had conquered monarchical absolutism and religious obscurantism.

Thanks to the work of the reformationist movement in England there was such a reverence for human life that those who would be killed in other revolutions were spared.
This revolution is also remarkable because it was successful in its goals and did not collapse on itself, this inner strength was from the solid basis provided by the reformation church.
Voltaire said the English are the only people to ever remove a monarchy and establish another power through non-violent means and maintain the rights of the common man in the aftermath, the common man even gained from this revolution as did aspects of the aristocracy.
