I'm very surprised to not see a thread for VR. I just got myself a oculus rift recently from the big sale and tried VR kanojo. Holy shit was it mind blowing. I thought it would be nice to have a thread like this for anyone else who has VR and they can discuss about future or current VR games.

First of all, sorry for not updating much this last month. As I mentioned in the last post, I was super busy moving, but that affair is already finished.

The upcoming scene is nearly done, there have been some issues with the availability of the VA so I might have to call a backup. Regardless, it shouldn't be more than a week from now for release. If needed I will upload the scene with no VA and update it later.

There was a recent update that details what is upcoming in MGI on the patreon, and PAYWALLED to current patrons. This method is retarded, what about updating followers on the sidelines?. If you even want to know wtf is happening in this game he wants you to pay up more than wanting publicity.

All recent demos for patreons are VR supported, the newer the demo the better the implementation. There are +4 VR supported demos for MGI.

I went with Vive on launch because they had wireless controllers out of the box sooner for around the same price. Can't wait for knuckles and TPCast on Vive.
Rift now is far more cost effective, I ended up buying an Xbox controller and Deluxe audio strap anyway would have saved heaps if I waited a year.

Believable haptics with warmth and sense of texture is what is really missing. You'd need props for that which is far less convenient than a one size fits all solution.
I hope someone cracks that puzzle, it would have more uses than just porn.
Smell comes last, there are numerous solutions for that already. Even if they all released today it would take forever for them to gain traction and developers to support all these niche peripherals.

Can't get it working for Vive, Readme translated from nip states that you must extract the zip and run with vive.bat.
Just flashes for a a window for a brief moment, tried running vive.bat with steamVR on and off, same deal.
Tried running as admin and compatibility mode for windows 7 as well, no dice.
Running the nanai.exe displays on monitor though. Seems the game was developed for oculus and they are using revive to get it working with Vive.

Looked at a few videos using android phones to run steamVR and it seems like they track rotation (yaw/pitch/roll) with the gyroscopes only. Doesn't seem like they can track translation (up/down/left/right/forward/backward) so you'd be restricted to playing seated/standing in place.
For emulating motion controllers I've seen several quirky hacks using a leap motion to track your hands, PSmove controller, and razer hydra.
I hear FoV on cardboard is too low.
It is cheap hack, obviously not indicative of the experience you'd get on more expensive HMDs but it can give you a taste of what VR is like.

Play Club, Honey Select, CM3D2, Waifu Sex Sim, VR Kanojo... there's something just awesome about being able to walk and move around the characters in VR that can't be captured on a flat screen.

There are a whole bunch of others being developed for VR too (check out the r/adultvrgames reddit).

In addition to that they have interactive devices that can work for these games too.

Check out the Fleshlight Launch for example. It syncs up with videos and vr videos from various sites and there are some user made mods being made to sync it up with games and scripts that seem promising.

The games and other experiences in VR are pretty mindblowing in general, but that's a bit off topic for this thread.

Seriously, get into VR. Specifically PC VR. Do it. Now. You can thank those that of us that convinced you later.

The Vive and Rift are both great devices if you want the best consumer level experience.

HTC Vive $800
THe Vive is built around SteamVR (the basic design is licensed from Valve). It's a great HMD (head mounted display), but the pricing really puts it out of most peoples budgets and just isn't competitive with the Oculus Rift pricing anymore. LG is also launching a SteamVR HMD, so you may just want to wait for that (depending on pricing, etc.). You can play Oculus Home (Rift's main storefront/launcher) games using ReVive.

The Rift $400-500
The hands down best choice at the moment. It's pretty much the exact same experience you get from the Vive, but now at almost half the price (it was half the price during the sale lol). It has built in headphones that you can swap out if needed (Vive requires an additional ~$99 purchase for their headphone strap; built in headphones are just super convenient for just popping in and out of VR). It is backed by Facebook, so tin foil hats may not approve.

Budget options - use your smartphone.

Everything you need comes with the rift bundle as far as I am aware.
You get 2 cameras out of the box, touch controllers, and the HMD.
You'd must make sure you have 2 compatible USB3.0 ports for the tracking cameras, and one USB2.0/3.0 for the touch controllers I think.

If you want to play room scale 2 cams supplied should be sufficient granted you place them elevated pointing down in opposite corners of the playspace unobscured, you will need to buy USB3.0 extension cables for each camera.
I recall Ocullus recommending 3 cameras for a room scale setup to minimise occlusion but seen people managing fine on youtube with 2.
Prefer Vive's tracking myself, but considering the cost difference its a small price to pay. Rift's tracking seems acceptable for roomscale if you are into that, just more fiddly to setup.

If USB3.0 ports are giving you shit (crappy ASSMEDIA USB3.0 controller etc...) and you don't have access to decent USB3.0 controller on your motherboard like an intel one then you'd have to purchase a good USB3.0 PCIE controller that has been tested and recommended by oculus.
One of the reasons I prefer Vive for roomscale, no USB3.0 fuckery just need a single USB2.0 port, base stations don't even connect to PC just need to be plugged into mains power socket.

You don't need much for roomscale, trust me you'd want roomscale anyway after you try it unless you play seated cockpit games only.
Just need enough space to take about 1.5~2 steps forward from center of playspace in any direction.
Camera will be fine for such a setup in your average room unless you live in a mansion its range is good enough (HMD cable length limits your range anyway so it wouldn't matter)
The reason I recommenced putting it up high in opposite corners pointing down is to minimise blocking the cameras allowing at least one camera to be tracking you at all times, even when picking up objects from the ground. You can still loose tracking (even I do rarely with that sensor setup with Vive), you just grey out for a brief moment on vive until tracking is reestablished in a split second not sure how long it would take on the rift likely about the same.

You can try improvising without extension cable, but you won't get the most optimum tracking setup, chances of occluding both cameras and loosing tracking on one of your peripherals would be more likely to occur.

Runs in the family on my mother's side, I am quite sensitive to motion sickness it sucks.
Puked on a fishing trip in the open sea, cant read anything in a moving vehicle get dizzy especially when it turns, hell a long trip with a lot of turns gets me dizzy unless I am the one driving or sitting in front.

My mother instantly got dizzy the moment I put the vive on her head sitting on a chair and looking around for crying out loud. It was the only case though everyone else I demoed it to had no issues whatsoever.

Funnily enough at most I only got a little dizzy with Vive when using artificial locomotion involving fast artificial sidestrafing and turning. Perhaps I have built up more of a tolerance playing games during my childhood.
The worst offender was getting shot down in warthunder and having the aircraft spin out of control that instantly does it for me.
I could play a few games like Pavlov with touch pad locomotion for a few hours just fine. Moving forward is not a big deal as long as turning and side strafing is slow or disabled outright in a cockpit its a different matter since I have a frame of reference that seems to help, had no issues whatsoever in elite dangerous.

Like holy shit just have a VR game where you are in the hospital just lying there like in MGSV and a roster of different Nurses come in at different times to tend to you. If you stare at them long enough they interact with you.

You then talk to them via dialogue options and if you can convince them they fuck you. You can even change their costumes if you tell them you have a certain fetish, they go behind a cover to change (flashing some tits because it's not totally obscuring)

I just got my Oculus Rift yesterday. It was really neat playing my first VR game and Roco Recall is fucking sweet, but a lot of the games are glorified demo's and cost way too much atm. I can't believe how many games have a stupid teleport system to move. The analog sticks are never used to move. I play in a limited space so I can't do 360 or room scale and when I have to move 2-3 feet on my own to get near an object to grab it, it's a pain in the ass that could just be solved if they just let me use the damn analog sticks.

Really this first wave of VR is more the beta testing phase and it's basically a gimmick at the moment with no real meat on the bones.

I got a Rift a couple of days ago and VR porn games seem like kind of a hassle. I've only tried Honey Select and CM3D2 and I enjoy the model viewing and peeking under skirts way more than the actual sex parts. You need room scale for everything which means you need to have both hands on controllers which obviously makes actually stimulating your dick real fucking hard. No if it works. Problem with using USB 2.0 with sensors is that the bandwith might not be enough and the tracking will be choppy. One USB 3.0 and one 2.0 will probably be alright since Oculus recommends two 3.0 and one 2.0 for a three sensor setup but two 2.0 would maybe cause problems.

A $50 addon that does maybe a third of what a headset would do. I have a Nexus 6P and a HMD for it and the VR with that is not nearly as good as with a Rift. All the $50 dollar addon will do is leave you high and dry. VR without actually moving your head in space, roomscale and without controllers is honestly not that impressive and I wouldn't even bother with it.

According to the people who've tried to mess with the sensors, they don't save any of the data let alone transmit it. Even a man covered in tinfoil like yourself has to realise that the blowback from getting caught secretly doing something like storing the images they could take would be immensly more harming to them compared to what they could get out from it. What do they have to gain with images of you humping space when you're enjoying some VR porn? The only real way I can see the sensors being webcams being an issue is if someone hacks your shit, rewrites the drivers so that the sensors are working as webcams and then deals with all the visible light filters and shit to get the image.

It was recently updated after being released 2 years ago to now include VR with the rift or vive. I haven't actually found a copy of the updated version though, only the older edition without VR.

Vive and Oculus are cable-bound, so depending on how/where you want to use your headset, a viewer for your mobile phone might be better suited. The Vive is generally more friendly to tinkering, also there's a lot of additional stuff coming like wireless adapters and additional trackers for ultimately full body tracking (though that's still a bit away, I think).
HOWEVER if you just want to get it for one game, and you don't even have the playspace to use it to its full capacity, I don't think it's for you, unless money is absolutely no issue for you. TP Cast is also releasing a thing for the rift at some point. rift with two cameras also does alright roomscale unless you're literally huddling in a corner and occluding the headset and controller LEDs with your body, or prone and licking dirt off the ground

i've had both at some point and i agree that vive's tracking is flawless though. also more room for glasses, had to go out and get contacts for rift

Demo 2 isn't out yet, but "soon". It's just three of the last demo's put together so it covers the first 4 days, but with one or two extra things thrown in.

"I see a lot of people asking for demo 2, so first of all I want to explain what demo 2 is.

Demo 2 consist of the first 4 days of the game. The first 3 days are the introduction to the story and day 4 is the first chance you get to explore freely.
If you want to experience demo 2 right now, you can. The "Day 1 build" and "Day 2 build" are the first 2 days. Eris scene and Secret build are most of day 3, and the scenes of day 4 are Adeline's and Mako 2nd scene. You can find all those builds in the overview tab.

What demo 2 will do is to merge all those builds into a single experience and add some extra side quests and flavor to spend your time.

At the moment I'm focusing on creating robust systems for stuff like day progression and storyline checkpoints in order to avoid bugs in the future.

I have also been polishing and optimizing the areas. Pic above is a performance test I ran today with the help of some patrons.


There's still a bit of work left, but it's coming, don't worry!


I want to get this second demo right, but after that's out of the way, a lot of exciting stuff will be coming. I'm really looking forward to that.

Also, Big girl votings in the next days, so look forward to that as well!
