I was going to prepare some wall of text for this special occasion, but I decided to go with the flow.

Last time I posted was exactly one year ago, so I guess new people may not remember/know me.
I'm one of those editors who make shitty hentai music videos, and I'm posting today, because I want to share another crappy work of mine.

First thou, I would like to tell you my story about myself, and how I got here. (I guess you can just copy the link from the bottom if you don't care)

I like HMVs, because I prefer music over weird moans, sound effects and terrible dialog. I think if I remember correctly, the beginnings of hentai music videos on 4chan were some time back in 2012. Back then, I was just one of "silent fapper" lurkers. I was happy with downloading videos, and fapping to them.
I started getting my own ideas for videos, and instead of giving them to other editors, with no prior video editing experience I decided to get into myself.
I downloaded Sony Vegas, watched a simple video tutorial on youtube covering basic syncing, and made my first video in 2013.
I was learning new things with each video I created, and I think I have developed my own style. I always guided myself by remembering what I like, and dislike in HMVs.

Turns out the most important aspect of a video I watch is how entertaining it is. Not every HMV is fappable in my book, many of them are not. Many viewers could say that about my videos, but I hope they are at least fun to watch.
It all makes perfect sense to me, because the very first hentai clips with music I watched were ngsilver.com, and of course amvhell.com
Yes, AMV HELL 0, and then AMV HELL divided by 0
That's how my story began. AMV Hell videos were not something I fapped to, but I sure found them funny, and I rewatched them couple of times over those years.
They are not the Hentai Music Videos, that we get these days. (continued in next post)

This HMV has grown on me big time. The way you matched the tempo of the music, accelerating mid-scene to match, is some of the most effective kind of HMV editing there is, imo (after being synced properly, ofc). Forgive the knee-jerk reaction to male vocals, the song actually works really fucking well.

HandBrake is the best converter I've used. I know you can set a duration with it, I don't know if you can do a start/end point, but there's a lot of settings in it that I haven't looked at before, so maybe there is one.

The way to respond isn't to weaken. It's to unify on a platform that discourages the things a division would result in. Anonymity, value of ideas (content) as opposed to persons, and whatnot. If you want discord, you might as well just go to reddit, and see how long it takes to devolve into a circlejerk and memes like every other board where instant gratification is the primary motivation. It happens here, but at least it's slightly stymied.

Making a creator aware of the fact that parts of their audience would like more varied content is an integral part of criticizing a piece of work. Artists constantly drawing the same stuff over and over again, maybe not even realizing it, need to know what their audience thinks and wants to see if they intend to "cooperate" with them and provide them with fresh stuff and interested.

Everyone is free to voice their opinion, but one thing I think people should remember, most folks that make HMVs aren't doing it to please an "audience". People are just making the HMVs they want to make and sharing them here. Sure, lots of editors follow feedback, especially stuff about the editing as opposed to content preferences. And yeah, it feels good when you make an HMV and a ton of people like it. However, if you made an HMV that lots of people like, but you didn't have any fun making it and/or don't care for the HMV yourself, it doesn't really feel worth it. Not to me at least. I'll tweak my HMVs based on suggestions, but I'm not making an HMV that I wouldn't like myself or won't have fun making. HMVs take too much time and effort for that. The music is probably the most important part of the HMV, so I only work with music that I think will make an HMV I'd like. For me that means mostly music that has no vocals, but I've used both male and female vocals because I thought it would work well and it's something I wanted to make. Some editors take requests for entire HMVs or parts of an HMV, which is incredibly nice of them, especially if it's something they have no interest in, but that's not something that should be expected. Requests are requests, not mandates.

tl;dr: Making requests for certain content in HMVs helps editors get new ideas and is completely fine. Being upset when some editors still prefer different content in some of their HMVs is dumb.
