This happened To me op. What I did that worked was I went to the site and clicked on the url where it has the https in green and from there I clicked on cookies and deleted them and refreshed, hope this helps

Assuming you're doing it the normal way and not through extension/add-on, just remove the 's' in 'https' when you open 'exhentai' on the URL. Took me a while to figure that out by myself.
