I know japan has reverse import fears but the scene that is being omitted in the Kitty Media release was technically supposed to be in the original JP DVD release since I believe they were just caught short on time even though they released an episode a year from 2009 - 2011, while the JP Bluray collection included the BJ scene plus an extra scene after credits.
I just find it annoying that there is proof that Japan does have the uncensored ep3 masters due to the leaks last yr.

I think that it was nearly 10 years ago. Apparently, they said this to Media blasters, the ones licensing Kanojo today through the intermediary of company Ceo John Sirabella. Seems one of their reason they gave to explain it was reverse importing. It's a sad case because there are a lot of animation in this case which will probably never be uncensored. The only chance to get the uncensored versions would be that the japanese censored law get repelled, but unfortunately it's seems very unlikely to happen ever or in the next 100 years.

It didn't drive them into bankruptcy. Most profits are always made from first sales ( very first 1-2 weeks after the release): there was always a delaying between the Japanese and Western releases to prevent undercutting of their major profits. Reverse import was one of the reasons they gave for stopping to license titles to the west. It seems to be related to other things like disparition of a lot of shops where hentai dvd were sold in America back in time, creating a significant decrease of the sales volume.

Animation market is in fact an anomaly, and is the reverse evolution of the current trends in Manga and eroge market. Very few would have expected that these two market would develop and provide many titles nobody would have though could be released uncensored one day. When an hentai company is reluctant to release titles from almost 10 years ago which very likely don't make any profits anymore, it realistically cannot be related to profits or reverse import. I don't know what some of the companies actual reasons are but it's indeed very strange. The only companies who are still dealing with the west seems to be Milky (MS pictures) and Vanilla (with their brand Pashmina).

While I cannot speak directly to the order placement and shipment system, we produce the amount requested by Rightstuf, so a shortage of DVDs is a failure of communication or during a transitional time when we are sending more over. As for releasing them at different times, if you follow both the Mediablasters FB page as well as Kitty Media's we explained there were some issues regarding scene acquisition and the BD quality. We put out the DVDs first for those who do not wish to purchase the BD, as it is polished and as finished as it could be, why should we sit on a finished product?

Remember for the US market to get more uncen Hentai to buy the titles to support future releases otherwise Japan won't see the point in giving out such licenses.

I honestly don't expect anyone to listen, but if people choose to cost my team their jobs to be cheap, then there won't be anyone left to import and uncensor. The people who do buy though are legitimately the reason I love doing this. But it will certainly be interesting to see where the market goes if people continue uploading torrents. Porn is hard to sell, least of animated porn. There have been plenty of studies and research projects conducted in the past on the effect of torrenting, and guess what: Torrenting doesn't affect sales. It boosts them! It gives people a chance to preview the release and then buy it if they like it.

But yeah, just remember that the people who are torrenting it wouldn't buy it even if it wasn't available for free download.
