I like this thread. I hope someone can answer my simple question: Is there any way to get behind a dlsite paywall? Is there a database that hosts torrents that I don't know about? I try and hit up sukebei.nyaa for my exploits but 9/10 times the work I'm after isn't on the site.

Thanks in advance.

I wish there was an easier way to import images from a booru on your browser into hydrus.

My current method is to find the image I want, get it's md5, then add md5:<hash> to the downloader in hydrus.

I wonder if I could modify one of those extensions that download from a booru to interact with Hydrus?

i have a question, and the first place i thought of was here, where all of you are deep enough in this 2d world to go with an organization method for H, the question is:
The C89, C88, C87 at the beginning of the mangas, what does it mean? i thought it represented the comiket in which was released on, but im not sure since the next comiket is going to be the 89 and there are already "C89" mangas out there, hope you can help me with this silly question

>>
>>4138963
I'd say nhentai. They get stuff from exhentai and they do have a lot of content. Their download system is amazing. Its torrents and its always quite quick. For exhentai, you pretty much always have to check if the doujins have seeds for the torrent but for nhentai. It always works.
>>
Those seem like nice tools but I have so much of that shit that it seems infeasible to catalog or manage it beyond what I already have
>>
>>4139724
If you've already got a folder system then it's not too bad. I spend about a day importing my huge folders of images into hydrus. You just do it a few folders at a time, use regexes to tag things by filename/location, and make sure to only tag those things which matter to you.

It's probably similar for doujin organization. A large initial time investment, but a really nice setup when complete.

It didn't work at all for me when I tried to download something that was a year or two old. There is a program in the OP that lets you download nhentai doujins by inputting a link to them though.

TEN DAYS AGO. IF I HAD JUST GOTTEN INTO HENTAI COLLECTING 2 WEEKS SOONER, I'D HAVE A 100% COMPLETE COLLECTION OF ALL MY FAVORITE ARTISTS' WORK.
What makes it worse is that I once Googled "view deleted Tweets" but somehow none of the results mention Topsy, so I didn't learn about it.
And I can't believe that there was a Twitter archive at all. I don't understand how that is even legal, since it was owned by Apple and not Twitter.

Twitpic is still up and I see all these great looking unfinished works. Ahhh there could be finished versions of them that they posted on Twitter and nowhere else. I'll never even know if they have finished versions now. It hurts. It hurts so bad...

Fuck my LIFE. FUCK IT!
>>
>>4141898
Err, I guess its legality is consistent, since things like archive.org exist and are popular.
I'm surprised that Twitter wasn't willing/able to do anything about it I suppose. Though I know nothing about the coding in this kind of stuff.

Apple still probably has the archives. I should get a job there to get access to the deleted porn. Just kidding...

Hydrus for images(and I think it does some videos too). Happy Panda for doujins. Hey guys, new person here. I need to know how to make Happypanda open my doujins through one of the gallery viewers you guys suggested (it's MangaMeeya). >>

Open up the settings and in the first page, there should be something along the lines of external viewer. Just supply the file location on your drive of MangaMeeya.exe and it should open it up with it.
>>
>>4147234
Check your My Settings page.
>>
>>4147542
You can't "directly" read data from a rar, just like you can't "directly" read data from a zip. In order to turn compressed data into uncompressed data, some code somewhere has to perform a decompression algorithm, both for zip and rar. Zip's algorithm is short enough, old enough, and unencumbered enough that the program either includes the code itself, or is confident enough to require the operating system to provide a library for it. Neither of those approaches work, in general, for rars, so they've made support optional. You're not going to see any performance loss or superfluous space overhead, because there isn't any other way to do this.
>>
>>4148886
You actually can "directly" read from a zip if it's in storage mode, which they probably should be since you'd get no remarkable size decrease for lots png/jpgs.

Excuse my idiocy but I've tried a lot of things and I still have questions about HappyPanda:

1. How do you update without wiping everything? Tried pasting it over the existing folder but that didn't turn out so great for the metadata.

2. I tried using 0.26 on a fresh set of files but it can't populate from directory - it probably adds 20/300 and claims the rest can't be read. Sticking with 0.25 for now.

3. And does anyone else have this issue with cover pages not displaying? Nothing in the github about it.

Not necessarily, more fundamental. Like, am I supposed to tag each file with a certain specific thing to tell the program they are supposed to be grouped, or go through and number every page or something? I don't really get how it works.

>Like, am I supposed to tag each file with a certain specific thing to tell the program they are supposed to be grouped
Yeah, pretty much. Here's an example with one of the few doujins I have in Hydrus.

All the images in that doujin have the tag "title:end of location" so when you choose to collect by title, they'll be grouped into that collection. The only other image with the "Silent Hill" tag I have doesn't have a tag with a "title" namespace, so it's places into another collection.

You can use other namespaces too, like creator or series (and I bet there's even a way to add custom namespaces, if you wanted).

For doujins/comics you want to read in order, make sure to assign them each the correct "page:" tag, along with the other tip, and just sort your search by one of the ones including page number.

i have a similar sized collection, which was organized by artists and a big unsorted folder. What i did was to add a few folders at a time, and delete dupes and shit while hp read the tags. Also HP has a limiter for that, double the wait time and it will look like extensive surfing to sadpanda.

i use visipics for my image folders, pretty nice program.

For doujins, i use visipics on happypandas thumbnails folder. Although you have to regenerate them from scratch before, as happypanda sometimes creates duplicate thumbs for some reason.

The free version only detects duplicate images and not similar images, which I assume you were using the former. The main benefits though are the UI and automation capabilities as well as the manual filter selection.

What the fuck is with Happypanda losing tags? Might as well not use the whole program if it fucks up its purpose this badly. Do I have to start backing up happypanda.db every fucking time I close it down?

Pic related, count was 900+ just a while ago.
>>
>>4161166
Yea I've also complained about it, and luckily, it seems like it has been fixed for the next version. Just waiting for update now.
>>
>>4160622
Hydrus is more for loose single images, literally like a local booru. You can use it for sorting doujins and comics, but it's a bit of a hassle and I wouldn't recommend it.

The other two are more specifically for comics. I use happypanda for that, mainly because I prefer keeping it in a single folder. I might try Pandaviewer later, though.

In my opinion, the best setup is Hydrus + one of the other two.

>>

seconding this. apparently happypanda just unzips the archive to its temp folder, and forces the viewer to read the first image.

CDisplay fails at that, unless there is some option for it to read loose files in row, you must switch to a program that can, or tediously go to archive folder and open the archive with CDisplay yourself.

Or happypanda developers can just add an option to directly link the archive to an external reader, which would solve the problem.

You can use regexes to tag imports by filename/filepath. If you give your files good filenames, then you can use those, or just their locations in folders.

Did you remember to check other namespaces? In particular, you probably want the "no namespace" namespace.

>>
>>4163288
Thanks, I thought that the no namespaces option was just to not import any tags. Pretty silly of me to think in hindsight.
>>
>>4163344
that's probably related to the fact that you appoint a .rar reader seperately, i assume happypanda checks that before your your comic readers exe.

I don't think that's intended functionality, if you report it as a bug, they would fix it. Also, try removing the link to unrar.exe. If i'm guessing right, happypanda should jump to your reader.
>>
>>4163944
i just tried it myself, removing link to unrar exe doesnt work, it just makes the file unopenable altogether. Still should be fixable.

>>4163192
i tried this with CDisplayEx. it works when the zip file doesn't have any subfolders. But if it has one, happypanda extracts the contents into temp folder regardless, instead of directly feeding the archive to the reader, which causes CDisplay to fail.

You can choose what it does with files it imports. It's always going to make a copy of the file in the hydrus folder, that's just how the program works and it's never going to change, but it only deletes the original if you choose so in the settings.

Ah. You might only have control over imported files when done through import folders (pic related), and not through normal importing. Something you might want to suggest to the dev over on the 8ch board.

>even if it does copy through settings, i'd just prefer monitoring

Understandable, but that's just how Hydrus works. It assumes that you're only going to access the files through Hydrus itself, so it moves them to its own folder structure. This makes the entire thing much more portable and less of a headache to maintain. On the downside of course, you always have to open hydrus to find anything.

It's a bit annoying, but the power of tagging more than makes up for it, in my opinion.

I don't understand what you're trying to do.
If you want to update while retaining your data, do this:
1. Assuming your on 0.25, go download 0.26 and then extract it to your current happypanda folder, overwriting it.
2. Run Happypanda because, as read on the download page, it'll need to update your galleries to the that version.

Repeat the same steps for version 0.27.

Generally, you should always keep yourself updated because of the drastic changes in each version. And to update, you just overwrite your previous installation.

For anymore questions, ask the dev on Github or gitter. He's really helpful.

i always like looking for things.
>>
>>4168389
thanks.

For the past week for so I've been looking for a doujin manga I read a few years ago. And for the life of me I can't remember the name.
I recall it was about an artist who got into all sorts of sexual misadventures, and then wrote his manga about them, but no one believed him.
At one point he gets bribed to work at some big, fancy company and leaves the nice little one he works at, but he gets all cocky and arrogant about his work, which now sucks because hes an ass hole. So the big fancy company fires him and he jumps off a cliff out of depression, but he lives and his old company takes him back and then his art is good again.
>>
>>4168391
Okay, I need you to just tell me the things involved in the story.
that was a too much information.
What kind of girls were they?
What kind of guy was he?
>>
>>4168394
The girls are, if my memory serves me right, big boobed, quick to jump in the sack with a guy they just met. I remember a lot of threesomes.
The MC was a pretty simple guy. Kind of a loser. There wasn't anything very distinguishing about him, to be honest. Just another run of the mill Harem doujin protag.
but like I said, he was an artist. He drew doujin... within the Doujin.
>>
>>4168399
I can't explain this anymore to you,
What tags would the girls have?
What tags would the guys have?
Do you even know what tags are?
Jesus christ anon, get it together.
>>
>>4168401
Bare with me, this was years ago.

But, off the top of my head, I think this the girls would fall under 'big boobs'. And there were different girls each chapter. And I guess the guy would be 'big dick' ? Like I said, he was really generic.
general theme tags would be 'threesome' 'harem' and 'Ahegao'
>>
>>4168401

A late reply, but for tablet android users, I would recommend perfect viewer. It has native rar/zip support along with normal folders. It even has a startup password if you are paranoid and auto color if you donate (it works OK in some instances)
I sync stuff from the PC using shared folders on windows 7. Although if you have a large library, the app can take up to an hour or two building the thumbnails for your library depending on your tablet

If anyone else has a better set-up for synching files to tablets, I'd like to hear ideas.

Thanks for the heads up. Can confirm that once it was done working, my db is back down to only containing local tags and the system works as previously. The repo would have been nice, but this isn't a deal breaker.

I've added some fakku links to the gallery search, mostly what's available publicly. It can also be accessed as JSON:
https://panda.chaika.moe/gallery_list/?source=fakku
or
https://panda.chaika.moe/api/?source=fakku

Awesome. Thanks.

Would it be too much to ask to get namespace tags and gallery names with the artist? Regardless this is a big help thanks.
>>
>>4172401
Me again...

I started fixing the tags to be closer to what exh has did you want me to post them somewhere like pastebin when I'm done? Or are you planning on keeping the fakku tags?

I can probably automate it, later today or tomorrow, those tags I got them just like fakku provides them. I will add the artist name to the title, since that's practically the standard.
>>
>New version of happypanda finally has a way to make different favorite lists
god damn that was my biggest complain. Now I can finally download everything and categorize it properly.
>>
>>4172713
Well Fakku tags are quite a bit different then e-h/ex especially since there is no namespace for gender. This will make it pretty hard to automate, some tags can just be removed all-together and others converted however the rest will require manual labor.

Remove:
Ashikoki (Should really be converted but I'm not sure if only one tag will suffice).
Biting
Fangs
Headphones
Idol
Irrumatio
Osananajimi
Slice of Life
Socks
Tsundere
Vanilla

Convert:
Bakunyuu > female:large_breasts AND female:huge_breasts
Color > misc:full_color or removed if it's only partial
Chubby > female:bbw or male:bbm
Hentai > Transfer to category / remove
Housewife > female:milf
Non-H > Transfer to category / remove
Kemonomimi > female:bunny_girl or male:bunny_boy
Oppai > female:large_breasts
Oral > female:blowjob or male:blowjob
Office_Lady > female:business suit
Pettanko > female:small_breasts (However should NOT be used when female:lolicon or female:toddlercon tag is present).

But the real pain is going to be working out all those namespaces, I just don't think it's really going to be possible.

I am still working on the tags expect a new paste soon.

Do you have to manually add your galleries again with the new happypanda version?

>>4172751
Read the release notes it generally says on there whether you need to or not.

New paste: http://pastebin.com/N89PBjSW

Forgot to mention, all galleries without the western tag should probably have language:translated as well.

Oh I had to go from 25, to 26, to 27. Tried going from 25 to 27 and it didn't work. Man I'm dumb.

Already manually added everything so whatever.

>>4172747
Well i kinda messed up and totally missed that schoolgirl should be converted to female:schoolgirl_uniform (only if they are wearing it obviously)

Just added a couple more to the paste and fixed the error.

Time for bed now

One more post until the bump limit. Seems a lot more threads on being created on /h/ now currently so this thread will probably be bumped off in a few days rather than a week or so.

I'm taking suggestions for the next OP now.

It seems that people prefer the pubhtml version of the spreadsheets, so I've been linking that, but do tell me if I'm wrong.

published version: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uJzgJBGuY5Jv0xcaPwGD8lAlYueu0Z6Q4HWdy1BDDDg/pubhtml

edit version: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uJzgJBGuY5Jv0xcaPwGD8lAlYueu0Z6Q4HWdy1BDDDg

I'll a bit of slight renaming of stuff.
H-doujin downloader seems to be a doing a lot more now. I considered adding it before, but the full version is commercial software, so I don't know.

Anything else that should be added or subtracted to/from the OP?

Who's the owner/dev of that ugoira ripping site that rips animated ugoira(what the fuck is a ugoira anyway) files from pixiv and how do I get in contact with him? That site hasn't been working for awhile now.

The only things i was using it for were extreme 3D lolicon\babycon animations, some were even guro. Hopefully the owner wasn't vanned.

Anyone got some useful pixiv stuff for me?
Also, can i somehow sort by popularity without paying?
Please help, thanks

You're probably doing something wrong not covered by the chart.
It's also only a basic chart.
It doesn't cover ever possible problem.
I might make something like that at some point, but it seems unlikely to happen.

How do I hide galleries with ExVisited?

Okay, it seems it's only possible to hide galleries when you're using

Now how can I unhide galleries?

Use [TS] Pixiv++ to make Pixiv more easyer to browse. Load of features, it's kind of like the 4chanX of Pixiv scripts. Check out some of the other scripts by [TS] as well, I've never tried them but they sound pretty usefull.

https://openuserjs.org/scripts/TimidScript/%5BTS%5D_Pixiv++

This one isn't in the Hentai Resources but Pixiv Translation Plus is another god tier script. https://sleazyfork.org/en/scripts/1601-pixiv-translation-plus It translates all the tags on not just Pixiv but nijie.info and nicovideo too. You can even make custom tags if needed and import/export them to a collaborative database site here http://codeanimu.net/random/archive/db/ptp_db/

The biggest problem though is the collaborative database site hasn't been updated in years. I think I'm still the only one still uploading my tags to the database. So when you install the script be sure to download the Unfiltered tags and import them into your script for a more up to date list of tags.

It would be nice if more people or someone could fork the database site so we can start having a much more translated list of Pixiv tags again.

just want to ask a question regarding javascript because I'm a newfag who doesn't know stuff like that

is this pastebin link is still working? because I always got an error everytime I try to enter "document.getElementsByTagName('canvas')[1].toDataURL()" in the console

Another update to the fakku tags:

This really does take a long time, I'll probably only update it once more.

Can I use pandaviewer or happypanda to actually sort my collection, or does it only add tags and displays it like it was organised based on filenames and panda database info?
My files and folders are a mess, I would like to sort them into folders (for example by artist), remove duplicates(also a zip and unpacked folder pairs).
>>
>>4176590
No, it won't help you with doing that.
You'll probably have to sort them yourself.
As for removing duplicates, you will need other software for that.
>>
>>4176590
I think it's generally better to use extra software to get a database and organize that, compared to trying to organize files in a folder structure. Just put everything in one folder basically.
And I think I saw a remove duplicates option in happypanda, but I have no idea if that actually works, and how it works.
>>
>>4176596
>>4176598
Thank you anons. I guess if I start now, I might end someday...
>>

happypanda only does a simple filename check. It's not really of any use.
