A trap is someone male who passes for a woman (and there are flat chested women). Once someone is taking steps to be legally and socially female, it's just hateful to say that they're trying to "trap" people.

Trap is pretty offensive because of the implications. It implies you're trying to trick people and "trap" them. Transsexuals aren't trying to trick people into thinking they're women, they are women. Cute crossdressing camwhores also aren't technically trying to trick anyone, but the fact that they could is part of the appeal.

Shemale and tranny are like the transgender version of "nigger". They're super offensive terms that are usually used to harass. It's the kind of thing people shout at transpeople when they're getting thrown out of restrooms or having their asses kicked for daring to be trans. Or, at best, it's just an objectifying and dehumanizing porn term that implies transgender people--and transsexuals especially--are all just perverts and prostitutes, and leads to the kind of attitude that gets my friends harassed by cops who think they're prostitutes.
