NON's guide to Celeb Fakes in AE
1) Rotobrush the head and then run a Stabilize motion on it if theres alot of movement. i typically run the Stabilizer around something sharp in the neck area. i render that out. once rendered i place this new head clip on the first layer, surround it with a high feather mask so the neck blends out.
2) once i place the head in the right position so the head looks correct on the body i run a Motion tracker on the body, again around the neck position. once it does that and hit apply it makes the head follow that position. i easy tween the keyframes too.
3) i color correct the head layer or the body layer, whichever seems easier.

How another does it.
- Rotoscope actor's head from interview footage
- Mocha-track the head from porn footage
- picwick it to the null layer

i tried to achieve this. the elements have to be so perfect for it work.

now the best way i figure out on how to do this easily is: get a video of a black chick getting a facial, or a brown latin chick. since their skin is darker you can grayscale the footage, then level it out in which you make the skin as black as possible. once you have that you can screen that clip on top of the celebrity head. but the problem is the movement of the faces. it just never matches. i tried on a ScarJo. it came out mehhh. ill share it later. but its really hard to do.

I'm not using a very powerful pc, so a useful thing I learned was to lower the resolution by half or a third on the "view" and "preview" tab and just use full resolution when doing frame by frame detail adjustments like the rotobrush or color correcting. Also periodically purging the memory and disk cache helps if you're getting a lot of hang ups.

Not sure if that was the kind of lag you meant, but maybe that helped someone.

Maybe let it play through and cache first. Check if there is a green (stored to ram) or blue (stored to disk) bar above the timeline before you scrub through.

If you mean you get slow loading when using the rotobrush tool itself then sometimes it can be the format of the footage you are using and some kind of compression issue in the file making AE work harder. idk, man.

Still fairly new, so I can only help with some of the problems I have encountered myself. Sorry, bud.

Could either be one rogue mod, or a small group of people, or one person that decided they didn't like NON or RDCYs work. This happens all the time across reddit, and is one of the main reasons I have such a low opinion of that community in general - it is just so easy to manipulate and abuse for any arbitrary reason as simple as someone not liking the tone of what you are saying.

But I'll stop with the negative things since I know a number of you are from there. And it should be obvious I'm generalizing and not judging any one place like /celebfakes - since I actually do not know what goes on there.
