Part 1 since my post is too long.

My virgin girlfriend who I have been with for the past 5 years has oral herpes HSV-1. I have extreme herpes phobia and a couple years ago I asked her and myself to get tested in case we picked it up from drinking games or from childhood. After a month of asking she reluctantly agreed and I was obviously clean, but she turned out to have HSV-1. There are two strains of Herpes Simplex Virus:
HSV1 (Mainly causes oral herpes aka coldsores)
HSV2 (Mainly causes genital herpes aka the scary one)

Scientists believe as human beings started engage in oral sex, HSV1 spread to genital area and over the time it mutated to become HSV2.

Depends on the population group, about one in two or three ppl have HSV1, and about one in five or six ppl have HSV2.
You gotta understand that substantial portion actually have HSV1 in their genital area, and HSV2 in the face.

In Greek, "herpes" mean "creeping" or "latent." As the name suggests, most ppl whom acquire herpes doesn't have symptoms.
The virus can still shed and transmit while they are not showing symptoms that people recognize as typical outbreaks.
If you don't know what it is google it. However, the most of the "classical symptom" pictures you find online and textbook are fear-mongering, because they are usually the worst cases.
However, if you do get symptoms, the symptoms are very mild in which ppl can mistake them as bug bites, allergic reaction, razor burn; whatever mild skin irritation - you name it.
