What's the path to becoming a data visualization specialist? Can I make money if I try to become a Processing wizard? Does DV even fall under the realm of Graphic Design?

not an expert by any means but here's my thoughts on this
>What's the path to becoming a data visualization specialist?
i guess you could pursue data analytics, programming, probability and statistics as a foundation but unless you get accepted at draper most stuff could be self taught or with an online training course lynda has a good data vis course b.t.w
>Can I make money if I try to become a Processing wizard?
just found this

>Does DV even fall under the realm of Graphic Design?

i just hope someone with more experience could give his opinion on this

i suggest that instead of processing try to learn javascript and d3,js (https://d3js.org/) d3 its the best library for DV that you can found and the fact that its web based makes it more versatile.
I have been programming in both languages (JS and processing) for quite a time and i can tell you that you have more options with JS.
i'm glad to help if you have questions, anon
