What's the Photoshop effect that slightly softens edges to make shapes/text look less crisp? I know I read about it once but Google is only giving me shitty "MAKE A VINTAGE LOGO" tutorials.

interesting... ik on 3d its called anti-alliasing. maybe just blur and the un-sharpen tool + blending layers?
>>281550
guess you could just add a light blur and grain
>>281550
Select your object, shrink your selection by 1 or 2 px, and blur that shit.
Protip - CMD + Click a layer selects anything that's not transparent in a layer.

Smart blur filter?
Or just a regular gaussian blur filter.

Anti-aliasing also happens in 2d and that was my first thought as well reading OP's question. Try it and report back OP
Feathering?

It's called anti aliasing
I would duplicate the whole thing onto a new flat layer, apply a subtle gaussian blur, mask that shit out and paint back into the layer mask with an airbrush where you want it more softened.
