hi im making a website but i'm making it retina friendly. i've got the jist of it, make the image double the size, set it to be one size on all screens in the coding. my only problem is the fact that when i upload it to a image hosting site it is never retina quality thus not being able to be retina quality on the website. are there any image hosting sites which dont reduce the quality?
also i assume when im making artwork on my retina display mac i dont have to double the size as it is already doubled? - i assume this because whenever i paste an image into photoshop it is half the size so i assume it would work the other way?
You do realize that retina is just an advertising word and literally means nothing, right?

No, he means so people can see it using their retinas.
So people are able to use their retinas to look at the website, without resorting to braille.

dont get what you mean sorry
um lol so if you can't host the images yourself then how do you intend to host your alleged "website?" dropbox? top kek

Yes and no.
Even though it's just a fancy apple thing it does create some problems for people who use a Retina-display. Images and icons often turn out blurry since they are essentially twice as big as they should be.

i dont really get what you mean. are you trying to deny that retina display is clearer?
