Poster edges filter in PS

Theres a few ways

>work in black/white, slap a grunge texture over the clean one as a new layer when you're done composing. Maybe even use wacom brushing if you're skilled

print it copy it scan it if you want it genuine

Create your work with PS, print it out, brush over your work with a toothbrush or smth similar, scan it with 300dpi. Done

In photoshop you can get this look by changing the photo to blackand white, and the altering the levels (contrast, etc). You can also achieve this look in a more defined way and in one step by doing a black and white image trace in illustrator. It is less gritty but is easier to manipulate in ways like changing the color.

hory shrek, it's more work to take a picture of your screen than to take a screenshot

You're on the right track using the threshold-adjustment…
for the "scanned" look:
USE A FUCKING SCANNER.

Trust me on this one, I've tried to recreate an 'authentic look' soooooooooooo many times, and the best way (the only way) is to do it the authentic way.
