sup /g/! What program do you recommend for combining/merging mp4 files WITHOUT losing video quality.
I have tried a few but they always compress my 300mb files to like 80mb...
ffmpeg
ffmpeg
cat part2.mp4 >> part1.mp4
>>62463169
huh...?
>>62463505
you can also go
tac part1.mp4 >> part2.mp4
>>62463062
>>62463169
i have now installed ffmpeg. What command do give if want to combine file1,mp4, file2.mp4 and file3.mp4?
>>62463553
in ffmpeg?
>>62463169
agreed.
split and cat
>>62463015
Mp4 is a container not a codec. If chroma subsampled, then premiere>lossless avi>hybrid>x264 lossless
If chroma 4:4:4/4:4:2, premiere>lossless avi>winrar>rar5

Also if you're a Wincuck and you like to spend money on shit, VideoReDo TVSuite 5 will do it.

ffmpeg -i 1.mp4 -c copy -f mpegts intermediate1.ts
ffmpeg -i 2.mp4 -c copy -f mpegts intermediate2.ts
ffmpeg -i "concat:intermediate1.ts|intermediate2.ts" -c copy "combined.mp4"
>>62463582
no. in shell.
mkvmerge

Cat and tac are bash commands. Ffmpeg merges, but the commands listed above literally append the file to the other side like copy paste. Ffmpeg is like printing a document double sided, but cat is taking 2 single side prints and gluing them back to back.

>gluing them
Except a glued document ruins the aesthetics of the finished product, whereas a video directly concatenated plays exactly the same as a video 'edited' with ffmpeg.
