if you have no gpu and you NEED to have a working pc until christmas you have no other option . I like ryzen and for 105 dollars you can get an 8 core ryzen . however you would not be able to use it without a gpu .

either intel or amd will be fine though

you should be fine with the kaby lake chip it is 2 cores with hyperthreading so the computer sees is as quad core too . for games it will be cool
