what are some recommended desk chairs? I work remotely from home, so I might be able to get it partly covered by my company
I've tried fitness ball ones, never again..also cheapo $100-150 ones, never again
reading around I see that herman miller is recommended a lot, are there alternatives for $400-500? I don't have a problem with buying one from office liquidations/etc...

I have that chair. I'm 6.3 so I like that they have a size for normal people.

I have Hank Hill syndrome (my ass is small and doesn't provide support for my lower back). Not wanting to wear fake butt cushions all the time, I got that same chair some years back.
10/10 my ass and back have never been happier.

Also look for Steelcase Leap, they are as good as Herman Memers if you're not too fussed about having mesh
>paying $500+ for a chair

>paying sub-$500 for a chair

As a guy who sat in a $30 chair from Walmart for 7 years with no back problems, yes, absolutely no problem.
I recently upgraded to a $200 chair and it doesnt feel any better, just looks bigger and nicer.
There's +20 other tech-related things I'd rather do with $500, nothx

OP here, read my first post - my company will most likely cover most of the cost, meaning I can buy something that will last me more than a few years..
I'd buy an ASA to play around with WCCP redirection if I had unlimited money to spend on every technology flavor of the year, instead, I'm willing to buy an item that will last for a while and I guess I'm spoiled enough to hate a creaking, flaky, awkward chair to sit my ass down on
IF U LIVE in the USA, then just look at Craiglist and get an Steelcase or Areon from one of those furniture sellers. They sell those chairs for less than 300$. The ebay seller u want to get the Aron from is known to be shit. They have a good rating but they take a long time and arent on the authorized reseller list. They will send u some really old chair, working but old and take a long time sendin you it.

Thanks man, I was suspect of eBay resellers scammin, im sure there are plenty of office supply liquidators in my area that will sell me the same thing.
Are there notable differences between old/new models of either steelcase or Herman miller chairs? I'm leaning toward the mesh back hm one, I've sat in those before during 6+ hour company meetings lol
I need something lower than 100 usd with neck support, adjustable height, and locking tilt. cushioned armrests are a bonus. Found these...
