Why would anyone want to use BSD?
Linux already has a low enough level of software support. BSD is little more valuable than a Chromebook.

Ever tried to use iptables? Anyone who's ever used iptables and pf will tell you that pf kicks iptables so hard in the balls that it drops packets voluntarily.

To avoid having to write your own in-house OS without having to contribute back in a meaningful way to the community who develops the OS in question. See Apple and Sony.

Talking to Linux users, you get the impression that they actually like computers and think operating systems are cool. They take screenshots of their desktops and do recreational config twiddling. Imagine a bunch of engineers who are enamored with eachother's slide rules rather than focusing on whatever problem they've been tasked to solve. That's the Linux fanbase in a nutshell.
Personally I think computers are gay as fuck and want an operating system that stays out of my way and just does what I tell it to do. That's why I use OpenBSD. It's way more simple, documentation is great, and the stock settings are fine.
