You guys keep missing the point, it's not about being milliseconds faster, that shit doesn't matter. The true value of iPhones is the longevity. I have many family members still happily using their 4Ss, I have friends with 5Cs and 5Ss that still work pretty well.
Just be smart and buy 1-2 generations old, pay 4x less than original price and be happy with a phone that can last you +5years

Well, Apple is known to be King of Cheaps so you bet the hardware is "standard stuff. But that was never the issue in any piece of tech out there, the issue always is and will be the software that runs it. No bloat, no shit just an OS that goes along with said hardware.
