TN monitors are fine for majority of uses as long you don't need odd viewing angles.

IPS are better at color accuracy and viewing angles at the cost of speed and panels being more expensive to make.

i've had tn panels for years in my laptops, just got one with an IPS display a month ago, i cannot detect any improved color quality or image quality, just the bigger "viewing angles" which is basically useless on a laptop that will be right in front of your face anyways

Before ips became popular people used tn to edit photos. There are high gamut tn monitors, just as there are shitty and good ips monitors.

Good modern tn panels have excellent viewing angles and colors.
