If you don't add any friends they can't post on your timeline. But even if you do add friends there are settings you can use to block timeline posting.

Yes, I've done that before and its not that hard, you need to set up a server and tell facebook when someone talks to your profile, to also send a message to your server, your server then can respond to the person that talked to you.

There's a lot of documentation, its called Facebook for Developers, many companies also use it to automate people talking to their pages, kinda like a telephone answering machine that goes "press 1 for blablabla"
