What would a fully encrypted or anonymous internet be like? What would you do with your freedom?
I'm guessing there would be a lot of crime or cyber war since there wouldnt be any way to prove who did what. Filesharing would also be on fire, but with even more viruses and botnet acting as a filter for people too stupid to be doing it.

For what reason? The ability to meet up for illegal activities untracked? Or because of terrorism? The way I see it, the early internet wasnt really tracked, and anonymous to everyone but computer scientists. But maybe its a case where the progression of world knowledge makes it impossible to return to.

4chan was founded on anonymity. Same as those old boards where people would confess their sins and secrets (which later devolved into bullshit stories or bathroom humor) those concepts seemed to work for a long time without getting anyone killed. But things these days are tracked quite aggressively.

I mean there wasnt any mass surveillance efforts or logging. Joe blow 1 and joe blow 2 might as well have been the same person as far as authorities were concerned.
