I'd say it's pretty accurate for most big gaming companies. The only major difference is that they don't hire kids right out of highcshool for these types of jobs. Other than that it's on point. Only a fucking moron would join a gayming company instead of becoming a programmer in a more respectable (and higher paying) field.

Pretty much, but less enjoyment and more depression due to long and sometimes UNPAID hours, which can go that way for many months.

The exception is small indie companies that do games dev purely for fun and not for money. But those are very rare these days whereas it used to be THE de-facto standard for most games dev 20+ years ago.
