So what's the best way of registering a domain name?
It'll just be a little website with a few lines of html as an inside joke with a friend. I'm not sure any of those commercial domain sellers would offer something like that.
I'm talking websites like niceme.me

There's sites that just sell the domain name with no added bells and whistles. Alternatively, I need to look into dynamic DNS

Get a domain and a cheap VPS.
Gandi gives you free basic hosting (up to 3 html pages I think) with a domain registration. Free DNS privacy too

nigga they what

they let you create 3 pages with their site creator and host them for you for free.

You realize that a dynDNS gives you up to "More than you can fit on your hard drive" pages of space, right?

ok but that wasn't the question

But why limit yourself when a bit of googling gets you a far better option?

you're the only person who has ever heard of dynamic DNS

Which is why a dynamic DNS update client is available in the stock firmware of the default chinkshit routers an ISP hands out.
