'm trying to set up my PS3 on a Sony CRT TV with HDMI.
the problem is that the games have problems in the shadows, some are dark, in others you see nothing, have to see something with rgb mode?
the CRT has no option other than to change the color of the gamma (options 2.4 or 2.6).
the PS3 I have in rgb limited.

someone who isn't a moron like you? There's no reason not to use it if you already have access to it, and a few reasons to get one if you don't.
>cheap
>great color and contrast
>low lag

What is your brightness setting on the tv currently set to? Which video mode are you using? Don't use the preset modes like Dynamic, Sports, etc. They crush blacks. Use the user predefined mode or cinema if it is the only on available.

You forgot something
>Rarely 1080i or even close
Using a CRT monitor makes sense considering it makes a huge difference in competitive FPS.

RGB Full is only for devices that can actually display that.
Since OP hasn't actually told us what model of CRT he has, we have no idea what HDMI decoder it is using. So we don't know if limited or full range is more appropriate.
OP should switch between these modes to see if it makes a difference though.
