>install ubuntu minimal
>get xfce desktop minimal
>boots up with no problems and is completely barebones with no bloat
>everything also just works because ubuntu minimal only installs what is needed for a system to run
>download and install everything that I normally use through the terminal
>even after finished my system runs at idle using only about 300mb of ram and is fast and snappy as hell
>also boots up in about 2 seconds
Why do you not use ubuntu minimal? It pleases those with raging computer autism that NEED everything to be exactly right while also ensuring you don't need to put yourself through the pain and suffering of configuring gentoo or arch like a fucking aspie.
Ubuntu Minimal is quite honestly perfect.

Ubuntu minimal would be great if it remembered the wifi config used in the installer.

nothing is stopping you from doing this on any distro. just because something defaults to binary does not mean you can not compile from source
Because the mini is doesn't work on UEFI systems

>he can't connect to WiFi through the terminal

Gentoo, maybe, but Arch being a timesink is literally a meme. If anything I found myself fighting with Ubuntu more often than it saved me effort.
