You can't view NSFW (18+/Mature Marked) Videos without an account. If you use youtube at all just fucking use the official app. The whole point of people using them is for the degoogling but they still collect your user data. They still own the Android Phone you use.

The normal YouTube app doesn't let you play videos in the background, and some people use it as a media player(Since so many phones have shit audio, the source isn't the bottleneck). Very few people are getting alternative YouTube apps to reduce their Google presence, and even the ones that are, so? Every bit helps. I use and enjoy Android, but wish it respected me more by spying on me less, so I make small changes, like disabling "OK Google" so it's not always listening.

Newpipe is honestly really well done.

Its a very well done app. I work security in a fire panel, and because of the quality options, I can watch 8+ hours of youtube and not pass 2 or so gigs of data used.

Why doesn't someone make an open source launcher?
I have no programming knowledge at all, but if I did I would just make a clone of Nova.
