Is spending your time working out how to avoid the botnet a big fucking waste of energy? Are we all just basically fucked? I mean even if you have the most secure system your ISP knows everything. And VPNs are hardly bulletproof.

No, because privacy isn't an either-or thing where you're either 100% anonymous from everyone all the time or you're under perfect surveillance at all times. It's a sliding scale, and doing just a few basic things goes quite a long way, because most botnettery is passive dragnet stuff, not targeted focused-on-you surveillance.

The shittiest depiction of a prism I've seen yet.

Anything beyond uBlock Origin and uMatrix is pure autism. If you block JavaScript websites can't really gather more than your HTTP headers so maybe at most if you use a pre-release version you should spoof the user agent to match the release version.

Yes

> Are we all just basically fucked?

Yes

The only solution would be to disconnect our ethernet cable to be 100% away of the botnet.

What exactly does your ISP know if all your traffic is encrpyted? Do you seriously think that anyone goes through the trouble of decrpyting some faggots traffic unless they suspect him of selling weapons or running a child pornography ring? Youre pretty delusional. Of course your data isnt safe if someone really wants to know what youre up to, but why would you ever consider yourself important enough to think that anyone would blow the necessary resources to spy on YOU specifically? Theyd have to jump through so many hoops already even if you do little to nothing.

sounds like something a wintard would say

I think a vpn goes a long way to at least limiting what your isp sees and sells to insurance companies and what pharmaceutical google is going to probably recommend to you based on your searches. If someone is doing something illegal, they can pretty much consider themselves fucked.
